Seasoned lifestyle & commercial photographer
With an early background and degree in fine art, Josh’s education is also complemented by studies in graphic design and a concentration in photography. Josh has been photographing both professionally and independently since 2006, working alongside many skilled and prominent photographers over the years. More recently, many may recognize him for his work with Carrs & Co Photography House. Josh served as a Principal Photographer for over 8 years with Carrs & Co from 2017 up until recently in 2025. He also had the pleasure of serving as their Creative Director for a time. While grateful for that experience, Josh is currently excited to focus on serving clients primarily through JOP. Josh has extensive experience in both lifestyle and commercial photography and, as you may have guessed, this website is devoted specifically to his lifestyle work.
But enough on Josh’s professional background. Read more below if you want to know him more on a personal level.
"I am so much more than just my professional work as a photographer. Outside of photography, I’m a Hiker, an Adventurer and Traveler, a Rider, a Plant-lover, a Designer, a Home Improvement Enthusiast, a Coffee Aficionado, a Twin, an Uncle, and so much more. Most importantly, I’m a Child of God. Those who come to know me have often said it’s hard to put me into a box.
I have a love for the mountains and the outdoors. I’m sure this attributes to both my love of hiking and going out for long motorcycle rides. With a background in endurance running, hiking has given me the opportunity to explore amazing places while challenging myself both physically and mentally.
In addition, I learned to ride a motorcycle 6 years ago and I haven’t been the same since. Learning to ride has given me a newfound respect for technical skill and the road, while also giving me a full appreciation for the freedom that comes with mastering new skill sets and escaping the chaos.
I’m sure my appreciation for plants has also come from my love for the outdoors. While I’m far from an expert, I have over 60 indoor plants ranging from all different regions. This hobby has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding and has taught me to be more attentive and patient. Even more so, it brings me joy each day to be surrounded by a bit of the outdoors inside.
In correlation with my love of the outdoors and hiking, I also love traveling. While I’ve traveled to many amazing destinations nationally, two of my international travels have been trips of a lifetime and stand out above the rest. First, is my trip to India. I spent three weeks there, with one of those weeks in Rajasthan and the remaining two weeks in South India. Amazing food, real chai, crazy driving, wonderful people, rich culture, and such a beautiful country, India has my heart and was, without a doubt, a trip of a lifetime. Hands down, I can’t wait to go back.
I’ve also been to Italy, which was priceless. Not only did I photograph a wedding there, but spent time in cities with a rich history: Rome, Venice, and Florence. I would also go back in a heartbeat and can’t wait to explore more. I’m incredibly thankful for these trips and can’t wait for future endeavors. This world is so diverse and it’s amazing to get a taste of other cultures.
If there's one thing you take away from this, it’s that I'm particular when it comes to quality both in my work and in my personal life. That’s probably why I love good coffee. A single origin pour over from Kenya or Ethiopia is my favorite. I’m also a fan of hoppy IPAs and spicy honey on my pizza. I’m a sucker for fine leather craftsmanship, and there’s a good chance my shoes match my bag and belt. Those who know me well would say that I have a knack for design. While I appreciate both quality in design and aesthetics, more than anything, I appreciate genuine people. I’m grateful for the many people God has placed in my personal life and the amazing people I have the honor of working with everyday."
