Nate and Katie are a fun and down-to-earth couple that I had the pleasure to meet for the first time a couple weeks ago while photographing their eSession. Katie first contacted me a few days before Christmas through a referral [thanks Sarah!] and knew they wanted me at their wedding. After waiting through a cold winter, there couldn’t have been a more perfect time and beautiful day for their engagement shoot. Starting in an alley near the Thorndale Metra, and then heading over to Andersonville for some really fun locations, we finally wrapped up our shoot after having fun capturing Nate and Katie as a couple.
Simply put, I had a great time getting to know both of you and photographing the two of you together. Can’t wait for August!

This most recent eSession with Chad and Kaye was an absolute blast. I had to put up a quick teaser before getting back to shooting and editing.
Thanks for being both fun and hip. You’re both superstars!

There’s nothing quite like summer evenings, especially in Chicago. Everyone in the city waits for these limited hot evenings. Only a few months out of the year can every minute, outside of work, be completely and solely spent outdoors with the fellowship of good friends. That’s where beach volleyball comes alive.
Meeting down at North Avenue Beach, both the new and old friendships of Fried Gold, get together each Tuesday night for the next 8 weeks to destroy their competition on the enormous sandy beach overlooking the city. Getting their name from a coined phrase on the British sitcom “Spaced,” Fried Gold may not be the most feared team in the B League, but this group knows how to have a fun. Just like the hundreds of other players that come out to play volleyball throughout the week, it’s not just about winning, or even volleyball, it’s about enjoying the Chicago summer with friends.
Just like going to Dairy Queen as a kid, whether winning or losing at a sports event, this group of friends enjoy the company of each other by going out after every game. That may just be the best part. :)
Let’s see what you all have in you tonight Fried Gold!

Shooting Scott and Kristina’s eSession was a blast… Understatement.
It was the first really hot day of this Spring. After enjoying the beautiful new blossoms at Cantigny Park, we eventually picked up Scott and Kristina’s dog, Maggie, and headed to downtown Wheaton. Embracing the hot day, it wouldn’t have been right to resist getting ice cream at Graham’s. Although I know both of them couldn’t help but enjoying time with each other, I doubt it was near as enjoyable as Maggie devouring their dripping cones.
Getting to know both Scott and Kristina better during their eSession, I remember asking Scott how he first met Kristina. Asking him to sum it up in an email, he bluntly responded “We met the old fashioned way… at a bar. Kristina was working and I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. Finally I got the courage to ask her out and she said yes. The rest as they say is history.” I found this amusing after hearing his witty remarks the actual day of the shoot about how he wooed getting her. I noticed that she couldn’t help but get a kick out of it, and it was obvious that his charm was exactly why she loves him.
Approaching their big day this morning, I can’t wait to capture Scott and Kristina’s wedding day. Best wishes to both of you!
