On my way back to Chicago from New Orleans PartnerCon, I made a quick stop to Beavercreek, Ohio where I was excited to greet the end of my busy wedding season with some time spent with family. I had previously planned on photographing my cousin, Taylour’s, senior portraits while in the area. But what I didn’t know is that I’d also have the opportunity to include my other two cousins Alexa and Kennedy, Taylour’s sisters, in a photo shoot. This was my third photo shoot before heading back to Chicago, and it was such a fun way to end my trip with these beautiful girls.

Once back in Chicago, I was able to sort through my photos and discover one image in particular that quickly became one of my favorite images from this year (top image). Having spent significant time with Alexa, Taylour, and Kennedy growing up and during college, I know how different each of these girls are, and I was amazed at how the photo captured each of their unique personalities. Almost immediately, I knew that I needed to get this image printed for my aunt who hasn’t had a professional photograph taken of her three girls in about ten years.

With Christmas approaching, I couldn’t think of a better gift to give my aunt. I went ahead and had the photograph printed on a 24X36” gallery wrap and was blessed enough to have my extended family pitch in to give my aunt this wonderful gift. This past weekend my extended family got together for Christmas, and after everyone had finished exchanging gifts, I was able to present the gallery wrap to a soon elated and tearful aunt.

It’s in moments like these that I can’t help but be reminded of why I love being a photographer and hope that my photography will continue to capture and derive emotion.

My current website and portfolio is the most recent of three major website releases. Each design has served a purpose and season in the evolution of Josh Ohms Photography. Since late 2007, when my original website was launched, I owe a special and sincere thank you to a talented friend. That person also happens to be my twin brother and best friend, Jay.

Merging my experience in graphic design and profession in photography with Jay’s experience in web-coding and computer science degree, there couldn’t be a better combination for designing a stellar website. Working together, we’ve been able to make a fresh, unique, and custom online portfolio. While I’m keeping busy with my photography, Jay continues to tweak and update the site, making your online experience better.

Holding a title of Senior Developer for a rapidly flourishing company, Jay is no stranger to busting his butt and working hard. Above and beyond his position as a developer, he has put endless exhausting hours into making Josh Ohms Photography accessible to you. Going to the extent of learning new coding languages, implementing cohesiveness, and making everything custom, he continues to exceed expectations. Not only has Jay made my website possible, but he continues to introduce new technologies, encourage me, and put up with my constant need for his advice.

With my deepest gratitude and sincerity, I extend this official public thank you to Jay. I’m sure this won’t be the end of his hard work and contribution to Josh Ohms Photography, so please feel free to contact us in order to let him know if you’ve enjoyed his hard work.

Thanks Jay!
